President Erdoğan hosted by BTSO

President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with the business community in Bursa at an event hosted by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO). President Erdoğan said that Bursa will become one of the leading cities of Turkey in terms of high technology, R&D and design.

President Erdoğan said that Bursa continues to grow and develop with its magnificent history and social and economic structure.

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of BTSO, said that Bursa has an important role in the development of Turkey which has the target to become one of the 10 biggest economies of the world. Mr. Burkay added that the new generation organized industrial zone that will be founded in Bursa will lead to the high-tech manufacturing rather than conventional manufacturing and that the clusters will help Bursa to have a stronger position in the global arena. Mr. Burkay said that new generation organized industrial zones having connections with harbors, railways and highways are required to reach the targets.

Mr. Burkay said that Turkey and Bursa will continue to host Syrian immigrants and regulations are required so that they are employed by the private sector to preserve their dignity in the society.

Mr. Burkay stated that they are for the independence of the Central Bank, but that the Central Bank should take into consideration the expectations of the real sector and be more proactive in terms of the interest policies. 

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of BTSO, and Mr. Remzi Topuk, President of the Assembly of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gifted President Erdoğan a certificate of 20 pine saplings planted in his name. Mr. Burkay also presented Mr. Erdoğan the first decision document of the BTSO Assembly written in Ottoman language in 1889.
