Communication Policy

In addition to the projects and activities of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, developments in the city and national economy are communicated to the public—especially our members—through the effective use of all communication channels. By continuously updating its knowledge and expertise in line with the requirements of the modern era, the Chamber also renews its communication tools and determines its messaging in consideration of social ethical principles.

Alongside conventional media, digital and social media are used effectively to deliver information to target audiences in a transparent and impartial manner. In this way, accurate and timely information regarding the activities of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry is provided to members and stakeholder institutions and organizations.

Social Media Policy

As one of the fastest and most effective methods of communication in the digital age, social media has become an important platform through which members of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry access information. In this context, the Chamber’s projects and affiliates manage their social media accounts professionally through authorized personnel. Official social media accounts of BTSO are managed by staff authorized by the General Secretariat. All content shared is prepared with the seriousness and sensitivity required by institutional culture. To ensure wider dissemination of BTSO’s projects, activities, and member services, content that could damage the institution’s reputation is strictly avoided.

Content that contradicts BTSO’s principles—including material that humiliates, insults, degrades, or targets individuals or institutions based on race, ethnicity, gender, culture, or beliefs, as well as unauthorized photographs, videos, audio recordings, confidential information, or documents—may not be shared. No content contrary to moral values, human rights, justice, or equality may be published through social media accounts. Personnel responsible for managing social media accounts must continuously improve their knowledge and competencies. No information or document from unclear or unreliable sources may be shared through social media channels.

Information and Communication Technologies Management Policy

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry aims and declares that it will fulfill the following fundamental principles to ensure the security, continuity, and sustainability of the Information and Communication Technologies systems and infrastructures required to realize its vision of becoming a leading institution recognized both in Türkiye and globally. BTSO has adopted the principle of ultimately transferring all services provided to its members into electronic environments.

The Chamber has established an integrated Information System in which information and documents are managed. Necessary measures are taken to protect information assets in terms of confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility and to ensure their continuity and sustainability. Risks related to information assets are periodically assessed, and all necessary efforts are planned and implemented to reduce identified risks to acceptable levels. Business continuity management practices are implemented to ensure uninterrupted access to information at planned levels.

In parallel with constantly evolving Information and Communication Technologies, BTSO plans and carries out activities aimed at improving the qualifications and competencies of IT personnel. The Chamber ensures compliance with the laws, regulations, circulars, and all applicable legal requirements of the Republic of Türkiye. Awareness programs aimed at increasing employees’ information security awareness and encouraging contributions to information security are regularly planned and implemented.

Financial Management Policy

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established to meet the needs of its members, facilitate and improve their professional activities, maintain discipline, ethics, and solidarity in order to uphold integrity and trust, and fulfill the duties assigned to chambers under Law No. 5174 and related legislation. The resources of BTSO consist of: Registration fees, Annual membership fees, Additional dues, Service revenues, Document fees, Revenues from subsidiaries and other income sources (interest income, etc.), all collected under the authority granted by Law No. 5174.

The legal representative of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Chamber is legally bound by the joint signatures of the Chairman of the Board and the Secretary General. Its revenues are used to fulfill institutional objectives, contribute to regional development, and carry out social responsibilities. Its assets are evaluated through time deposits and subsidiaries/investments. Financial reports are submitted weekly to the Board of Directors and monthly to both the Accounts Review Commission and the Chamber Assembly, in accordance with legally required formats and content. The Accounts Review Commission conducts financial audits every month.

The Chamber operates in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the uniform accounting system and provides timely and accurate financial information to support the monitoring and control of financial resources. Within the framework of Law No. 5174 and the Budget and Accounting Regulation, the annual budget is prepared according to the calendar year, and activities throughout the year are conducted in line with this plan. The Board of Directors prepares the Chamber budget within the framework of the strategic plan, and the Assembly approves it. Budget expenditures are made through the joint signatures of the Chairman of the Board (or an authorized deputy) and the Secretary General or Treasurer Member.

The Chamber establishes systems to provide accurate and timely information in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability and generally accepted accounting principles. Our Chamber continuously seeks to provide higher-quality services through the most effective use of existing resources. Financial management and controls are management tools that provide sufficient information and assurance to support these efforts. If deemed necessary, the Board of Directors of BTSO may have the financial structure audited by independent audit organizations. Establishing and maintaining a sound control culture, an effective financial control environment, and an organizational structure are among the fundamental responsibilities of management.
