BTSO Payitaht Bazaar Project Continues At Full Speed
Within the Payitaht Bazaar Project, one of the 16 macro projects of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), “Corporate Development Program” designed for the training of the craftspeople has been initiated.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Münir Karaloğlu, Governor of Bursa, Mr. Recep Altepe, Mayor of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of BTSO, Mr. Mustafa Dündar, Mayor of Osmangazi, Mr. Hasan Gürses, Member of the Board of Directors of BTSO in charge of the BTSO Payitaht Bazaar Project, Mr. Şakir Umutkan, Member of the Board of Directors of BTSO, Mr. Arik Tak, President of BESOB (Bursa Chamber of Merchants and Craftsmen), Mr. Muhsin Özyıldırım, President of Union of Inns, and the tradespeople of the bazaar.
In his opening remarks Mr. Burkay declared that almost 25.000 people are employed in almost 4.000 businesses in the bazaar which is the center of the economy of Bursa. He added that consumer trust offices will be established in various parts of the bazaar in order to ensure peaceful shopping in addition to the spaces for special needs and shopping festival will be reorganized. Mr. Burkay said that the tradespeople in the bazaar are invited to attend the trainings designed for them including retail sales techniques, effective communication and basic English.
Governor Karaloğlu said that the bazaar is restored physically and the trainings will enable the bazaar to be an important brand and contribute to the image of Turkey.
Mayor Altepe said “Bursa hosts a world heritage and should be an example to the other cities. In this context, we should increase the quality in the goods and the trainings of the Corporate Development Program are important.”
Mr. Muhsin Özyıldırım said that the Historical Bazaar is the oldest and biggest bazaar of the Ottoman Empire and is one of the most special regions of traditional commerce in the world. He added that the trainings provided for the tradespeople will enable them to learn the new applications and techniques.
The first training was delivered by Mr. Süleyman Orakçıoğlu, Chairman of Orka Holding, who received the “entrepreneur of the year award” in the world. Mr. Orakçıoğlu conveyed his experiences on consumer behaviors and trends and highlighted the importance of selecting the right target group.
