45-Million-Dollars Contribution from BTSO to the Economy of Bursa

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) has been continuing its activities which are directed to increase the competitiveness of the companies in international arena. The companies which apply to Development of International Competitiveness (UR-GE) with the support of Ministry of Economy and BTSO without making any payment have been increasing both their export volumes and their brand values. Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO said that “We aim to realize 10 Ur-Ge Projects in Bursa”.

BTSO which has become an expertness center in which role model projects have been realized for Turkey has been continuing to carry out case studies so that the members could be more competitive in international arena. BTSO which is one of the leading chamber of commerce and industry with its 35 thousand members provides the companies with important contributions by benefitting from ‘Development of International Competitiveness’ programs which have been developed by Ministry of Economy. As well as education, consultancy expenses, fair attendances on abroad, b2b meetings which are determined by making needs analyses of the companies, the buyer delegation activities from abroad also are supported with Ur-Ge Projects. The Ministry aims to start an export campaign under the leadership of cooperation institutions by providing the opportunity to prompt the local dynamics based on project and clustering approach with the projects in question.

ALMOST 100 COMPANIES HAVE BEEN BENEFITTING FROM PROJECTS

BTSO which aims to support the companies by benefitting from Ur-Ge Projects has applied to 3 Ur-Ge Projects in the sector of “Aerospace and Defense”, “Railway Systems” and “Baby and Childen Apparel” up to now. Almost 100 companies have been benefitting from the projects with the aim of enabling companies to be able to export directly and increase their institutional capacities.

MACHINERY AND CHEMISTRY UR-GE APPLICATIONS ARE ON THE WAY

BTSO that continues its activities in 2015 for Ur-Ge program for which up to 4,5 million dollars in total are presented for each project has been continuing its attempts in order to benefit from Ur-Ge project in Chemistry and Machinery sectors.

UR-GE PROJECT WITH ZERO COST

BTSO contributes by 25% to the project which Ministry of Economy supports by 75%. In this way, the companies which attend to Ur-Ge Project have the opportunity to increase their competition by benefitting from the project without making any payment.

JOIN THE PROJECTS, STRENGTHEN THE COMPETITION

Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors said that they want to strengthen the brands of Bursa which is the door that opens up to the world. President Mr. Burkay who expressed that they provided 13.5-million-dollars resource with 3 separate Ur-Ge Project up to now invited the companies of Bursa to the Ur-Ge Projects.

45-MILLION-DOLLARS RESOURCE

Mr. Burkay who expressed that they continue their activities with the motto of “Bursa grows, Turkey grows” said that “I hope that Ur-Ge supports which we brought to our city, will be beneficial to our companies and business community of Bursa. Our Ur-Ge activities have been continuing in 5 separate fields up to now. Our goal is to enable our companies benefitting from 10 Ur-Ge Projects. In this way, we can transfer the 45-million-dollars resource to Bursa.”

Mr. Halil Atalay; President of BEKSİAD who expressed that Baby and Child Apparel has been availing much for the sector of Ur-Ge Projects, said that “ We have been continuing our activities for almost one year. We made our application to Ministry of Economy with our 33 companies under the leadership of BTSO. The research of the needs analysis of the companies has been completed. We would like to increase the synergy between the project and the companies more. To be stronger in international markets, we would like our companies to increase value-added in production.”

Mr. Nurettin Özkan; Owner of BKM Company which is active in Aerospace and Defense Ur-Ge Project, said that Bursa has an important potential in aerospace and defense sectors “I have joined the project in order to take part in the aerospace sector in the next years. Technology has been developing unbelievably. The companies which do not develop themselves fall behind in the competition. We benefit from the project in order to raise value-added in our production. The companies of Bursa can develop themselves by joining the Ur-Ge Project.”
