Bursa Competes with Countries, not with Cities in Export

Mr. Ibrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of BTSO pointed out that Bursa’s overall foreign trade volume is over 25 billion dollars. “Bursa exports much more than 112 countries with 12-13 billion dollars export rate.”

Mr. Burkay said that Bursa is the second largest city in Turkey considering especially for its export potential. He also added that Bursa’s aim to achieve their 4 dollars per kilogram with export price is crucial. “Today, when we look at the exportation status of 2015, we see that Bursa has achieved its 4 dollars per kilogram goal.”

1 OF EVERY 10 MEMBERS MEETS WITH FAIRS ABROAD

As BTSO, through the ‘Global Fair Agency’ project we are conducting, we managed to take 2 thousand and 700 SME (small and medium sized enterprises) members to fairs abroad in order to improve both city and country export. “We’ve had the opportunity to take 1 of every 10 of our members to the fairs abroad with the support of BTSO.”

Mr. Burkay said that Turkey needs to expand the current 55 thousand exporters they have to 100 thousand in order to achieve its 500 million dollars export goal which is set for 2023 by Turkey.

Global Fair Agency Project and Commercial Safari Project we conduct as BTSO will help Bursa to become one of the centers in Turkey which will increase the number of exporters.

THE EXPORT RATE IS MORE THAN 112 COUNTRIES

Mr. Burkay said that Bursa’s overall foreign trade volume is more than 25 billion dollars and export rate is 12-13 billion dollars that is more than 112 countries. “We export more than Iceland, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Malta, Senegal, Albania and Kirghizia and many other countries. As a city, we compete with other countries in export. Our goal is to take Bursa’s export level higher.”
