Home Textile Companies will be Stronger with Clustering Activities of BTSO

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) continues its activities without slowing down to raise the competitiveness of the companies in international area and to increase their share of value-added production. And now, BTSO has begun its activities to establish the “Home Textile Clustering”.

BTSO which established clusters in the fields of Aerospace and Defense, and Railway Systems for making real transformation in industry and for providing sector diversity in Bursa have been getting ready to carry out a new clustering activity. BTSO which aims to gather companies that are active in home textile sector under one roof also aims to strengthen the companies of Bursa in the international arena. Stakeholders came together in “Home Textile Clustering Information Meeting” held in BTSO. A presentation about the benefits of clustering is made to the companies in the meeting and Mr. İsmail Kuş; Deputy President of the Board of Directors of BTSO, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ulcay; Rector of Uludağ University also attended the meeting.

“IT WILL BRING IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS”

Mr. İsmail Kuş expressed that companies creating new values and increasing the value-added and competitive environment have been continually successful and Bursa must be a city not only manufacturing and marketing but also making design and brand. Mr. İsmail Kuş expressed that companies have gained competitiveness in international area with clustering, and said “We aim our companies to reach to a stronger structure in today’s global markets. Using the sources provided to our SMEs more productive and active has become a necessity. Clustering is one of the most important ways to fulfill this necessity.”  

“WE AIM SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS”

Mr. İsmail Kuş said that university-industry and public cooperation have had a great role for the companies to increase sustainable competitiveness. Mr. İsmail Kuş who pointed out that the factor holding the cluster together is confidence and cooperation business-to-business (b2b), and said that “The companies which are able to do this increase their productivities with the synergy they have brought. As BTSO, we will continue to play an active role in clustering activities which have great importance in terms of structural transformation of our industry.

 “BURSA IS ON THE WORLD MARKET”

Mr. İsmail Kuş who pointed out that clustering is an important move for the future objectives of Bursa and Turkey said about Turkish Home Textile sector that: “Our sector has been taking part in the first three ranks in the world with its export rate above 3 billion Dollars per annum. It is more meaningful that our sector which gets a share by 5% in world markets has gained this success in middle and high segment products. While average export rate of Turkey is 1.68 Dollars per kg, this number exceeds 11 Dollars in home textile sector. Making this success sustainable that we have achieved in international area in the sector and taking part in the world market with Bursa brands are among the most important objectives of us.”

 “QUALITY LEVEL HAS BEEN RAISING”

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ulcay; President of Uludağ University who said that clustering activities carried out with the leadership of BTSO provides an extra vision to the industry of Bursa said that “Clustering activity which we have been supporting actively as the university, provides our companies to raise value-added and level of quality by making collaboration. Home Textile Clustering Activity has a great importance for the industry of Bursa. I believe that companies of Bursa should be definitely in clustering activities and protect their sectors.”
