BUTEKOM Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Center
Established in Bursa in 2008 as a “sectoral R&D center,” BUTEKOM has taken its activities to a new level in line with BTSO’s vision. Working to meet the R&D, testing, and analysis needs of industries and to support the transition toward high value-added production, BUTEKOM provides a wide range of services to the business community, from project and technical support to sample production, technical reporting, training, and consultancy.
Serving diverse industries such as textiles, technical textiles, composites, plastics, rubber, automotive, rail systems, aerospace, and construction, BUTEKOM has a unique sectoral structure. Within the center, the Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center and the Advanced Composite Materials Research and Excellence Center are in operation. In addition, the Composite Materials and Technical Textiles Prototype Production and Application Center has been established under BUTEKOM’s umbrella.
BUTEKOM also collaborates with numerous international research centers, and efforts are ongoing to establish a Nanotechnology Research and Excellence Center within its structure.
In 2019, BUTEKOM was awarded first place in the R&D and Innovation / University–Industry Collaboration category at the TOBB Chamber/Exchange Project Competition, further recognizing its contributions to innovation and industrial development.
